From The Friends of the Library Erlangen...

1.COME SING AND READ TOGETHER Saturday, 31.3.12 from 10 am to 12pm

We are celebrating the International Mother Language Day and invite you to
a morning of song and dance and readings in English.

Australian children’s singer and songwriter Ben van Haeff will
entertain you with his wonderful songs from his new CD “Inside Out – This is my House”.
Ben is a locally based artist and works in English – you can learn more about him via his website
The concert is for all children between 3 and 7 years old including children who are learning or
want to learn English as a foreign language.

In addition to readings and singing we will have a fun “make an apple spiral” activity for the kids – with healthy apples to eat!
The idea, apples and “spiral maker” equipment have been provided by Moira Drexler, FOLE member and owner of a locally based
Jewellery and Gift business, Australiss. Australiss is a drop off point for any English book donations for the FOL,E and is
located at Friedrichstr. 6.

2. ERLANGER FRÜHLING SUNDAY, 15.4.12 from 1pm to 6pm

We, Friends of the Library e.V., will be running an info stand at this year's "Erlanger Frühling" (spring Sunday shopping). This is an opportunity organised by the "Stadtverband der Erlanger Kulturvereine e.V.", of which we are a member, for the clubs and associations of Erlangen to present their work.

Our stand will be on the "Platz der Vereine" on the Neustädter Kirchenplatz from roughly 13.00 - 18.00. We will be directly next to the Church. There will be lots of other interesting events and lots for children (performances on stage, bouncy castle etc.), so we're in good company!

We will be looking for volunteers who would be prepared to spend an hour or so manning the stand: Perhaps you will be strolling through Erlangen anyway on that day and wouldn't mind giving up an hour of your time to tell people about the wonderful work you do - and enroll new members and/or ask for donations!

We will send round a google.doc link next week in which you can enter your name in one of the time slots. In the meantime, consider whether you could spare some time on that Sunday.
